06Operational function 06 of 06

Making the system act like a system.

Housing Sprints. Run time-bound, 4–6 week pushes that synchronize every function around one defined cohort, in one place, against one deadline — turning standing capacity into focused throughput.

How it works

A Housing Sprint pulls the system’s existing assets into focused coordination around a specific list of households. It doesn’t invent new tools — it makes every tool show up at once, for the same people, with a deadline. February 2026 proved it: a 25-day sprint housed 15 families against a goal of 10, plus three more into non-congregate shelter.

“Each sprint is a proof point that the work is solvable — and a rehearsal for the way the system should always run.”

The key elements

  • 01A defined cohort and timeline — February 2026 targeted 10 families in 25 days and housed 15.
  • 02Pre-approved fiscal agility — Flexible-Fund costs cleared in advance so payments move within one business day, with no committee delays.
  • 03Landlord engagement at velocity — the Owner Support Team activates in real time with 2–3 unit options per household.
  • 04Case management from day one — each participant begins a Housing Plan during the sprint, then transitions to their stabilization provider for the 12-month arc.
  • 05Daily coordination — case conferencing intensifies from weekly to daily; stuck cases escalate within hours.
  • 06Interim housing as a bridge — hotel and motel rooms provide safe, dignified shelter while permanent housing is found.

How it connects to the rest of the system.

  • It concentrates all five other functions on one cohort at once.
  • It proved the model in February 2026 — 15 families housed.
  • It hands off to Housing Stabilization Case Management for the year that follows.
